Summary for DST has been forwarded to the cabinet to advance clocks by one hour in May
Time will be reversed by one hour from the November 1.

Federal Minister for Water and Power, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has said that the incumbent government is working on war-foot basis to overcome the shortfall of electricity in the country while the summary has been forwarded to the cabinet to advance clocks by one hour in May for adopting Daylight Saving Time (DST).

DST is introduced to reduce power consumption and maximise the use of daylight. During DST, the sun appears to rise one hour later in the morning, and sets an hour later in the evening, seeming to stretch the day longer.

Time will be reversed by one hour from the November 1.

Federal minister for Water and Power, Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that there would be no loadshedding from next year.

Talking to a press conference in Islamabad he said that government will achieve the target of six thousand mega-watt more electricity till December 2009 and this will end the electricity crisis from Pakistan forever.

He further said that time will be reversed by one hour from the November 1. Advancing the clock one hour and switching off the air conditioner has saved 250-mega watt of electricity. He said that the projects which government has started their results would be seen from the next year.

He said that this government would not repeat mistakes like the previous government. He said that work on Bhasha dam would also be started from next year. Government is trying to generate electricity from the substitute sources. Government understands the problems of the people but they have to be patient, since People’s help and cooperation could solve the crisis.
